We had a great time at the Book and Music Festival – my panel partners, Governor Ben Cayetano, reporter Bob Jones, and Mark Panek gave the audience sharp contrasts to the ways in which authors “Tell Lives”. A real political insider, an opinionated reporter, professor, and retired judge. Lots of stories, there!
Later in June, I participated in Literary Links at the 41st Western Area Conference of The Links, Inc in Houston, Texas at the Westin Galleria. This forum gives Links members who are authors an opportunity to share their writings with the members of this prestigious organization. Shared the podium with 3 Links’ authors; National Vice President Glenda-Newell Harris M.D. and Brenda Spriggs, co-authors of Focus on Your Best Health; Link D.L. Mars, author of “Death of a Fairy Tale”, and Link Cheryl Polote-Williams, who created a book of prayers and reflections “Words From the Spirit”
It was fun and inspiring to be in the company of so many accomplished women and I had a ball renewing old acquaintances and sharing my unique perspective on justice. Here are some of the photos. I was extremely honored to share my book with our National President, Link Margot James Copeland.
Several of my Links’ members shared their jury experience stories with me, concurring with my continual emphasis on the importance of jury service amongst minorities. Others shared not so pleasant court encounters and welcomed the idea of voicing their comments to a sister judge.
